Arun House, Old Sir Bysshe and Mad Shelley

As part of Horsham District’s Year of Culture Fringe, Brian Slyfield, the owner of Arun House (once home to Sir Bysshe, grandfather of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley) will tell something of the story of these two remarkable men. Focusing on Sir Bysshe’s later life and his grandson’s early creative years, he will also speak of the house’s long history, which includes the founding of Richard Collyer’s original grammar school in the 16th century.
