Brangwyn’s Mural and Cartoon Story: a Talk and Tour by Museum Curator, Laura Kidner

To celebrate Horsham District’s Year of Culture 2019, we have arranged a series of bookable tours and talks exploring the fascinating story behind the Christ’s Hospital murals and cartoons by Sir Frank Brangwyn.
All events start in the stunning Christ’s Hospital Chapel, with the 16 murals, and end at the museum, with the current exhibition of Brangwyn’s 7 preparatory sketches: Brangwyn’s Cartoons at Christ’s Hospital.

10.15am – Meet at School Reception and escorted to Chapel by Museum Curator Laura Kidner
10.30 Chapel Tour – an insightful walk and talk amongst the 16 beautiful murals and the stories and artist behind them
11.15 – 11.30am – escorted across our stunning school site to the Museum
11.30 – 12.30 – a personal tour of the Brangwyn Cartoons exhibition by the Curator, exploring the recently conserved cartoon studies, special loans, artist and context. Plus a chance to look around CH’s extensive general displays about the school’s 465 year history encompassed in some 100,000 artefacts.
