ELIZABETH ROBINS: SUFFRAGIST, ACTOR-PLAYWRIGHT AND HENFIELD RESIDENT
The American-born actress made great contributions both to the London stage and to the “votes for women” campaign. One of our more-important previous residents, she lived at Backsettown from 1908 to the 1940s. Her story will be told by local historian Alan Barwick and theatre specialist Francesca Byrne.
The meeting will take place on Saturday, 27th April, in the Garden Room, Henfield Hall, starting at 2.30pm. Entrance £5 to include tea and refreshments.
