MUSIC for ORGAN – A Free Lunchtime Recital

Presented by Horsham Music Circle, this popular addition to the Circle’s annual programme of concerts, Music for Organ, has been devised by Gerald Taylor FRCO. Gerald trained at the Royal College of Music followed by a career as organist at London churches including Westminster Abbey, teaching at schools in West Sussex and Surrey and playing regularly in the Horsham area.

His November hour long recital opens with the Emperor’s Fanfare by the Catalan composer Soler and includes J.S. Bach’s Fantasia & Fugue in G minor BWV 542. Organists and composers from Italy, England, Belgium are represented in works by Torelli, Wesley and Jongen. A French Canadian contemporary composer is also featured with Denis Bédard’s Andantino and the concert closes with a Toccata by the Russian composer Georgi Mushel.

All are welcome – entry to the concert is free and there will be a retiring collection to support the Music Circle’s concert promoting work. For more information contact the Hon. Secretary on 01403 252602 or visit the web site at www.horsham-music-circle.org.uk .
