Russian and Ukrainian Dance
Come and enjoy an afternoon of Russian and Ukrainian Dances. Many of the dances are ancient, first appearing in the 11th century and becoming widespread by the 15 th – 17th centuries. They were danced both for pleasure and as ritual, connecting the dancers to nature and the seasons as well as building a sense of community.
No partners are needed and all dances will be taught.
We will start with gentle and easy dances, learning step patterns and looking at style. As the afternoon progresses we will attempt some more complex dances together with some faster ones, ensuring there will be something for everyone.
Suitable for all ages except young children. Please wear layered/ loose clothing and soft shoes.
Please book with Sue, and pay on the day.
