Horsham Music Circle presents ‘A New Year Celebration’ at 7pm on Saturday 19th January 2019, in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Parish Church. At the start of the Year of Culture, this will be a joyful showcase for the variety of talented performers in the Horsham area.
Joining the Choir of St Mary’s and Handbell ringers KIPHRA are organist Edward Dean, Assistant Director of Music at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street, London; award-winning double bassist Will Duerden, Strings Finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year and sopranos Jill Elsworthy & Valerie Lintott. A delightful programme with everything from Tallis to De Rose.
Two other concerts involving Horsham’s professional musicians and supported by the Year of Culture’s funding scheme, are a recital by the critically acclaimed pianist Jeremy Young (22 March) ‘a player of natural ebullience, he was stylish all evening’, and the Music Circle’s 77th anniversary concert (11 May) has drawn together some of our busiest players, involved with performance and education, to form a chamber ensemble. The Sharpenhurst Quartet will be led by violinist Rachel Ellis and joined by harpist Heather Wrighton and clarinettist Steve Dummer.
All concerts are open to the public and individual tickets are available in advance or on the door. Come and join us to experience the rewards of hearing live music performance. Tickets are on sale from wegottickets.com/HorshamMusicCircle, and from Horsham Museum 01403 211661. More details from www.horsham-music-circle.org.uk.
