Horsham Park Poetry Trail

Horsham’s very own ‘Poets Corner’ was officially unveiled in an awards ceremony on Friday 7 June.

This special Year of Culture project, created by the Friends of Horsham Park invited residents to nominate poems or create original prose to be displayed on a new installation of 12 tree trunk seats, located in the park, next to Park House Garden.

Over 100 competition entries were received, spanning three categories; junior school, senior school and adults. The nine winners will see their poems displayed on the assembled tree trunks alongside local poetry greats: Shelley, Belloc and Year of Culture patron Julia Donaldson CBE.

An additional 30 shortlisted poems from the competition will be exhibited under the banner ‘Poems in the Park’ for visitors to enjoy throughout the Summer.

Find all the poems using our handy map below and share your thoughts on the poems and what the park means to you using @horshampark, #poemsinthepark
