The planning and preparation for the Horsham District Year of Culture 2019 is in full swing! The Year of Culture team are seeing photos on social media of planning meetings taking place, events are being uploaded to the website and inaugural events are being held this year in readiness for 2019.
What’s happening in 2019?
Some of the events taking place include a street parties, wine tastings and children’s festivals. We will continue announcing events and activities as we hear of them! There’s a wide range of events taking place in 2019 with something for everyone. These events are being uploaded to the events listing page on our website and will be included in the Year of Culture programmes, the first of which is currently being prepared.
Want to run an event as part of the Year of Culture?
All those who applied to run an event as part of the Year of Culture have now been notified if they will receive a grant. If you missed the application deadline or did not receive a grant, this is not a barrier to holding an event! Your event in the Horsham District can still form part of the Year of Culture and we are here to support you.
What support can you give me?
If you would like to run an event celebrating the Year of Culture in 2019, please get in touch. We can introduce you to sponsors and event partners, helping connect you with the support you need. Whether you need help finding a venue, advice on marketing or guidance on the legal side of running an event, we’ll put you in touch with the right people. Your event can be included in the Horsham District Year of Culture Fringe 2019 and benefit from the publicity surrounding this event.
What’s the Year of Culture Fringe?
The Fringe supports all the fantastic events taking place in the Year of Cultur
e which we are not able to give grants to but should be part
of this amazing year. We have a Fringe logo for these events to use, showing their involvement with the Year of Culture. This logo helps publicise and raise people’s awareness of the events forming part of the Fringe.
The Year of Culture team will be promoting the Fringe as part of the marketing for the entire project. The Fringe events will receive guidance and support from the project team. They will be on the website events listing and many will be included in the Year of Culture programmes.
What do I need to do to be part of the Fringe?
Please upload the details of your 2019 event to our listing page as soon as you possibly can! The Year of Culture team will review your listing; we have a three-day turnaround for this so please bear with us. Once we’ve checked your event details and obtained any further information we require, your event will go live on the website. We will contact you to give you all the information you need on the Fringe Festival and provide you with the logo for use in your event marketing, together with the guidelines for this. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
